Written in exile, intercepted in the post and banned as a publication by apartheid censorship because the language was considered "offensive" and the portrayal of the South African Armed Forces "prejudicial to the safety of the state", the Argus hailed Somewhere on the Border as "the toast of the Grahamstown Festival" when it opened in South Africa in 1986.

SKERP! is ’n komedie gesels- en skertsprogram wat vir kykNET vervaardig word deur The Production Works in samewerking met Kosie House of Theatre. Elke program bevat drie bekende Suid-Afrikaanse skerpsketsers en/of komediante wat gehore hoofsaaklik in Afrikaans maar ook in Engels gaan vermaak.

In Marita van der Vyver's most recent novel Dis koue kos, skat (published in English as Just dessert, dear) we meet Clara Brand, correspondent of fame. Adapted for the stage by Alexa Strachan, we get to know Clara as she unburdens herself  in letters, e-mails and faxes to her unfaithful husband, sisters and female friends.

Boverhoff Sander Piano Duet

The two pianists are Dawid Boverhoff and Marga Sander. Previously known as Piano Duo Molto, they specialise in symphonic music adapted for four hands on the piano. Their rendition of the famous Mahler Symphony No 5 has just been highly favourably received at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival.
